About you 

You’ll need to either have a good degree, or be working towards a qualification in one of the following areas: 

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering 
  • Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Engineering
  • IT Systems
  • Finance
  • Human Resources
  • Procurement
  • Commercial 

Add excellent communication and relationship building skills, an analytical, creative and ideas­led approach to solving problems and managing projects, plus some specific knowledge and understanding of your chosen area ­ and you’ll be a perfect fit for our team.

What you’ll do 

During your 12 month full time placement, you’ll support your team or department in a number of roles, each designed to help you gain valuable experience across CF. You’ll also spend your time working on meaningful projects that will not only challenge you and your skills and help you achieve your learning and career goals, but will deliver tangible benefits to our business. Previous student projects have included:

  • Chemical Engineering ­ the design of an improved filtration system to remove solids from the feed to our Ammonium Nitrate Prilling tower.
  • Process Engineering ­ investigation of performance of heat exchangers on our Ammoniaplant. Identifying units in need of cleaning or replacement and setting up systems for longer term monitoring.
  • HR/Commercial – designing performance appraisal processes to accelerate individual & team contributions to our business performance.
  • IT Systems/HR Analytics – developing flawless & efficient core HR processes, analytics & metrics to enable the business to better make data based decisions.

Mentoring 

Throughout the year, an experienced team member will also be on hand to support and guide you as much as you need. They’ll already have followed a similar career path to you and will know our business well, which means they’ll be able to answer any questions you have ­ and keep you moving in the right direction. 

CF Co-op Program (US only)
